Google Translate Adds ‘Igbo’, ‘Yoruba’ and ‘Hausa’ Languages

Google Translate has added 3 major languages spoken in Nigeria to its multilingual statistical machine-translation service.

Igbo; spoken in the eastern part and some part of Delta State with over 25 million native speakers. Igbo was recently added as one of the official languages in Equatorial Guinea.

Yoruba; spoken in western Nigeria and neighbouring countries with over 28 million native speakers.

Hausa; spoken in the northern part of Nigeria and neighbouring countries with over 35 million native speakers.

Google Translate currently offers text and audio translations in 80 languages.
