Quick, go draw a big circle in your calendar around March 15, Apple fans.
According to 9to5Mac, Apple is planning to unveil a slew of goodies that day. Just be sure to mark your calendar in pencil, however, because Apple has not yet confirmed that date, and 9to5Mac says the timing “could conceivably still shift.” Apple may also opt to just make this an online announcement.
As for what to expect, 9to5Mac’s unnamed sources reckon the Cupertino tech giant will unveil the rumored 4-inch iPhone 5se, along with the iPad Air 3, and new Apple watch band options.
A new iPhone launch in March would be unusual for Cupertino, which just released its iPhone 6s$649.00 at Apple Store and iPhone 6s Plus$749.00 at Apple Store in September. At its March media event last year, Apple revealed an all-new MacBook, a deal with HBO for its streaming service, and the launch date for the Apple Watch.
9to5Mac says this year’s March event will focus on three major product categories: the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. First tipped last month, the so-called iPhone 5se, said to be short for “5s Enhanced,” may replace the current iPhone 5s and offer upgraded features like an A9 chip, better cameras, support for Live Photos, and Apple Pay.
The rumored iPad Air 3, meanwhile, “is expected to include iPad Pro features like enhanced speakers and a Smart Connector, which could mean that a smaller Smart Keyboard is on the way,” 9to5Mac says. Also reportedly on tap are more Apple Watch band colors and materials.
Apple did not respond to a request for comment about the rumored date. If and when the company sends out invites, we’ll be sure to let you know.
